Think you’ve got good gaydar?

A new study from Tufts University finds that our gaydar is actually pretty good, if we don’t think about it too much.  If the gut reaction is what is internalized, we’ll know if someone is gay or not right off the bat.  If there’s too much thought, though, forget about it.   Sociologists believe that the reason we are able to tell so easily is simple evolution.  We have evolved to quickly recognize those we will not mate with.  Makes sense.  But, I’m not so sure it’s true, unless there are loads of men lying about being heterosexuals.

My gut feeling on Ryan Seacrest, who the folks at The Stimulist put as the cover image of this story was that he is gay, no question.  But, his admissions would be otherwise.  When you think about it, metrosexuals may have ruined our internal senses and thrown them off completely.  Or, Ryan and Chad Hurley and the rest of those soft-eyed men are lying about their love of a little muscle action.
